Palaeontologists for the day

Sunday 23 April, 4.30pm - Museo Civico di Paleontologia

Exploring the fascinating world of fossils

What are fossils? How on earth did an elephant end up in rocks on a hill? And how did a tiny dragonfly end up preserved, trapped in a drop of amber?

To find out, we visit the Palaeontology Museum and in a hands-on workshop we simulate an excavation and recover real fossil specimens After observation and a simple cataloguing of the fossils found, we recreate the fossilisation process and reproduce models from the original finds. The workshop and the visit are held in italian.
